Check out this list for the 50 Best Date movies. I dunno, I just can't agree with Nerve - I mean, really, Poltergeist?
I'd have to say I agree with the Triplets of Bellville, it's a good movie to break the ice with, but c'mon - What's eating Gilbert Grape? You've gotta know the person a little longer before you subject them to that.
My number one date movie? Office Space. You know you've got a winner when they laugh harder than you do.
Early on, I like to watch some incomprehensible foreign movie, like Delicatessen, just to see how they react. A long movie in French about cannibalism? Sounds like great fun!

For a date movie, especially first date, you want something light and entertaining for both parties like Wedding Crashers, Meet the Fockers or Pirates of the Caribbean. Unless you really know the person, you wouldn't dare take your date to see a movie with serial killers like Silence of the Lamb, American Psycho or Hostel as your date might get paranoid and uncomfortable sitting next to you while they wonder why you chose this movie over Shrek 3. If I now made it hard for you to choose a movie, it's always safe to fall back on reruns of Seinfeld.
